Five Keys Charter School Request for Proposals 2009 -2010: Maximum award $250,000


Description:

The San Francisco Sheriff's Department Five Keys Charter School invites qualified non-profit agencies that have demonstrated experience in working with prisoners, ex-offenders, and their families, to apply for funding to implement an evening program, at County Jail #5, based upon Restorative Justice principles and containing the following combined components:

- Violence prevention services
- Substance abuse services
- Case management and re-entry services
- Offender accountability and victim / survivor restoration.

The School, which is recognized for its successful in-custody and post-release programs leading to a High School Diploma or GED, is looking for innovative, evidence-based programs for reducing violence and recidivism.

These programs will support the educational mission of the school and will address the underlying causes of criminal activity and support successful reentry into society.
